Gillam Lovato to ride a Javelin3/9/05
March 9, 2005 — Press release: Javelin Cycles is excited to announce that Amanda Gillam Lovato will ride a Javelin for the 2005 triathlon season. Gillam Lovato brings an impressive history to Javelin. Most recently, in the 2004 racing season, she placed fifth at Ironman USA Coeur d’Alene, third at the Boulder Peak Triathlon, fourth at Timberman Triathlon and sixth and ninth at Half Ironman California and Florida Half Ironman respectively. “I am very excited about my new relationship with Javelin Bicycles. Having always been a critic of the handling and performance of my bikes, I am overwhelmed at how responsive and smooth my Javelin rides,” said Gillam Lovato. “Considering that it is easily the lightest bike I have ever ridden, and now seeing that it’s probably the most comfortable as well, I look forward to seeing huge improvements on the bike segments of all my races this year.”
“We are very excited to have Amanda join her husband, Michael, as a part of the Javelin team this year,” said Mac McEneaney, vice president of sales and marketing for Javelin. “We look forward to a great season of racing, especially since there won’t be any arguments at home over who is riding the better bike — they’re both on the best!”
In 2005, Gillam Lovato plans an aggressive racing schedule that includes: Half Ironman California, Ironman Arizona, Florida Half Ironman, Boulder Peak Triathlon, Ironman USA Lake Placid, Timberman Triathlon, Ironman Wisconsin, Xterra world championship and Half Ironman Mexico. Her ultimate goal for the 2005 season is a top-three finish at an Ironman race.
Javelin’s bike line utilizes titanium, aluminum, scandium and carbon fiber materials in optimum combinations to increase performance. The complete Javelin line is offered through select, high-quality bicycle retailers.
Javelin is headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas.
